Environmental Group Disgraced at Vandalism

Megan and her team have been planting trees and putting in bulbs for the past seven years. This year 6 Prunus Amanogowa and 6 Rowan trees have been planted in various parts of Golborne and Lowton along with hundreds of bulbs. Bulbs were also provided to residents of Langley Close who did their own planting.

The Environmental Group were very annoyed about the damage to the
gardens on Peter Kane Square. Established flowering trees were broken
and the amount of litter and drink cans and bottles strewn among the plants was disgraceful. All this was taking place under the watchful eye of the C.C.T.V. cameras.

The event was opened by the Mayor and the local youth brass band provided the music.

Although the weather wasn't terrific the rain held off and the staff and Friends of Lime House made everyone welcome at this regular annual event.

Lime House was recently threatend with closure but continued efforts by the Friends of Lime House have kept this valuable service open.

Lime House is located at Newton Road, Lowton and is a residential care home which provides residential support and care for 31 older people.
